We establish G5 as an office supply company selling everything from rubber gloves and paper towels to food supplies. The first office is in our founder’s den. He and his wife are the only 2 employees.
1997 - Toner and 1st Employee Hired
A customer asks for toner, and we quickly discover toner is a more universal need than our other products. The success allows us to hire our first employee.
1998 - 1st Commercial Office Space
We move from the founder’s home and storage spaces to our first commercial office on Miller Road!
1999 - Copier Dealer on Garlington
The move to the Garlington Road location marks a major shift in the company’s direction, and then we take off as a copier company. The copier industry offers the opportunity to build relationships with our customers and value through service.
2000 - Authorized Sharp Dealer
Just a year after our debut in the copier industry, we become the authorized Sharp dealer for Upstate, South Carolina.
2001 - Our Peers Take Notice
We receive the Small Business of the Month award from the Chamber of Commerce.
2004 - Doubles
Through the combined efforts of each employee, we expand to double our size!
2005 - Building Our Vision
We grow rapidly and bring on many new employees. To make sure we do not lose sight of our values, we adopt the book Good to Great to provide a framework for running our business.
2007 - Right People, Right Seats
We add our 30th employee!
2009 - The Iconic Ice Cream Truck
We purchase our own Ice Cream Truck and make it the official customer appreciation campaign.
2009 - Growing Up
We have another growth spurt and double in size again!
2010 - 1,500th Contract
We became a copier dealer in 1999 and in just over 10 years we grew to 1,500 active contracts!
2010 - Developing Employees
We create a Management Training Program to develop our employees' leadership potential.
2011 - Anniversary
Renovated and refreshed, we celebrate our 15th anniversary with "The Event: AKA The G5 4.0 Unveiling Anniversary Copier-Palooza G-Fest Afterparty Party!"
2012 - Expand our Reach
We open our first branch office in Charlotte, North Carolina.
2013 - 2,000th contract
Between 1999 and 2010, we grew to 1,500 contracts. In just 3 years, we add 500 more – a 33% increase!
2014 - Moving Forward
We create a NEW website with a NEW customer portal! We purchase a NEW ice cream truck and hold the FIRST Machine Bash!
